GET TO KNOW OUR FAVOURITE ISLAND SUPPLIERS IN OUR VENDOR DIRECTORY SERIES

How did you get started in the wedding industry?

I’ve always been a creative person, and photography was something I naturally gravitated toward. After purchasing my first camera, I started sharing my work online, and soon, friends began asking me to photograph their weddings. From there, it grew into something so much bigger, and I fell in love with capturing love stories in the most beautiful and authentic way.

Why do couples choose you for their wedding photography?

Couples tell me they love my natural, storytelling approach—capturing real emotions, stunning scenery, and all the little in-between moments that make the day so special. Being a local Waiheke photographer also gives me an advantage; I know the island’s best locations, lighting conditions, and logistics, ensuring a stress-free experience.

What is your favorite part of a wedding to photograph?

There are so many moments I love, but one of my absolute favorites is the golden hour portrait session. It’s that quiet, intimate time when the couple can step away from the whirlwind of the day, soak in the moment together, and create breathtaking images in the soft, golden light. I also love capturing candid reactions—happy tears, bursts of laughter, and all the emotions that make the day unforgettable.

What equipment do you use and why?

I’m a Canon girl through and through! I shoot primarily with a Canon R6 and a 28-70mm f/2 lens. This lens is an absolute dream—it shoots at f/2, creating the most beautiful, creamy bokeh while still being super versatile for everything from wide shots to intimate close-ups. Having reliable, top-quality gear ensures I can capture every moment beautifully, no matter the lighting or setting.

Do you have any advice for couples planning a wedding on Waiheke?

Yes! Waiheke is a stunning place to get married, but it does require some planning to make everything run smoothly. My top tips:
✨ Plan ferry transport for guests early—especially in peak seasons. You can book in advance a ticket through Island direct.
✨ Consider the island’s golden hour for the best lighting in your timeline.
✨ Work with local vendors who understand the unique logistics of Waiheke.
✨ Most importantly, take a moment to breathe, soak it all in, and enjoy your day—I'll be there to capture it all for you!

I love being part of such incredible love stories, and I can’t wait to capture more! If you're planning a wedding on Waiheke, I'd love to chat.
